Ancient Ming Dynasty city wall bricks in N.China’s Shanxi suspected in illegal sale; two suspects detained, seized items under assessment: police

The Xiangfen county public security bureau in North China’s Shanxi Province, on Tuesday discovered information circulating online about “someone selling ancient city wall bricks from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) on e-commerce platforms” and quickly launched an investigation. 

Currently, the sellers, surnamed Wang and Zheng (a couple), are from Beizhonghuang village in Xiangfen county and have been taken into custody by the police. The cultural relics department is organizing experts to assess the seized items, and the public security authorities will take strict action against illegal activities, according to a notice released by the Xiangfen police on Thursday.
